Did you know?

  • Toys also are associated with thousands of injuries each year, some of which result in death.
  • Children ages 4 and under are especially at risk for injury from toys.

Toy Safety/Parents Can Help

  • Choose toys that are right for your child's age, skill level and interest. (Read the toy's labeling.)
  • Avoid using latex balloons, use mylar balloons instead. (Latex balloons are a common choking hazard.)
  • Make sure toys are used in safe environments. (Keeping balls and riding toys away from the stairs.)
  • Supervise your child's play.
  • Store toys for older children separately from toys used by younger children.
  • Keep small parts away from children under age 3.
  • Check toys regularly for damage and other hazards.
  • Stay up-to-date on toy recalls through the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

If your child has been hurt while playing with a toy contact Villari, Brandes & Kline so we can determine if the accident was the fault of another, such as the toy manufacturer.
