Sports Injury Prevention/Parents Can Help

  • Make sure your child always wears the proper safety gear and equipment when playing a sport.
  • Check to see that the playing environment is safe.
  • Your child should play with children of similar size, skill level, physical and emotional maturity.
  • Children practicing a sport should be supervised by an adult who enforces the safety rules.
  • Offer your child plenty of water during and after sports.
